More than any of the other Caribbean islands, the climate and terrain of St. Lucia is reminiscent of islands in the South Pacific. St. Lucia is one of the Windward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, approximately in the middle of the Eastern Caribbean chain, north of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, northwest of Barbados and southeast of Martinique. Sailing, snorkeling and diving are popular along the beaches, the interior tropical rain forests offer incredible beauty for the hiker and nature lover, and the golf courses around Castries are among the best in the world.
